The cycle of politics: Conservative: "Thousands of years of human experience are condensed into traditional moral lessons that we teach our children in order to make society, and each of our lives, better". Liberal: "Improvement requires change, and change requires that we abandon traditional thinking." Conservative: "We should not disrupt our hard won understanding of basic human morality and justice in pursuit of change for its own sake." Liberal: "The system sucks. We're letting the worst criminals, who all agree with us, out of jail in order to make more room for those who disagree with us... and, we're abolishing the police"... Conservative: "This won't go well"... Liberal: "Help ! Police ! I've been robbed. My house is on fire... and I'm being raped."
