"People should be treated as people, not frequently or primarily as members of some collective race based or otherwise." Says the privileged white dude. When we dismantle the structures that fuck black people over, maybe we can "treat people as people"- but saying that to people who live in a country that fucks POC that's a bit rich coming from white privileged dudes. I get it- it's hard to see yourself as profiting off and perpetuating racist systems- but you did, and I did, and we really ought to recognize it- better late than never. Might be time for some home truths- then we can move on, rather than sweeping shit under the carpet where it's just going to stink.
