Those numbers are bogus. Back In Sept the CDC itself stated that the death number of 200K ( at that time) due to strictly Covid was really 9K. Another thing that happened especially in the UK was the previous winter was very mild so flu deaths were down significantly. So basically more oldsters were alive and were fertile ground for Covid the following winter
