Since it worked once... sixty years ago... and anything "that looks sort of the same" as that did, that anyone does today, no matter how stupid it is, has to be afforded the same respect... as "just as good" as what someone else did sixty year ago ?
They're playing you... expecting you will go along with whatever they do... because of that manufactured image of Jonas Salk... or Marcus Welby MD... that people use in envisioning what health care is... while being taught to trust their doctor... rather than question everything she says. Meanwhile, doctors have been stripped of almost all of their real ability to practice medicine... and have been converted into glorified drug reps pushing the latest products...
The larger the healthcare sector grows... the more you pay for healthcare... the less quality you get... in the overall package of value. There's still progress, at the cutting edge in specialties... but, that's not what makes up the mass of payments in the flow of money ? "Medicine" is being systematized... and you have to understand the context in that evolution... to understand how "the product" of medicine is different today than it was 60 years ago ? And, that's not all good news...
The history of Polio has exactly NOTHING to do with whether or not the current vaccine you are being sold... is more of threat to your health than a salvation ? Sixty years ago... they meant well... in seeking to solve the problem of polio. Today... what they intend... is to force you into being a repeat customer...
They've done that already with the annual flu shots... that don't work... and find it a compelling business... mostly because it is highly profitable... and has ZERO accountability. The growth in the number of immunizations being delivered... has nothing to do with increased medical risks in the environment being addressed... and everything to do with decreased risks for the companies... as all of the risks inherent in their efforts are now being transferred to you.
There is no cost to them if the products they sell you are defective and provide no benefit ? But, more importantly, just as Big Tech has carved out exemptions from liability in relation to publishing... so the drug companies have in this corner of medicine... So, with a full exemption from any liability in relation to the risks being imposed on you... what would expect to happen to the level of risks being deemed "acceptable" ? They make more money from increasing the risks being imposed... all still with ZERO accountability.
So, the market dis-incentive to avoid another Thalidomide ? Gone. And, the regulatory oversight... to avoid another such outcome... also GONE ?
The model being implemented now... goes a step farther than before... and undoes the benefits of FDA oversight in the approval process to "streamline" and accelerate the delivery... on an expedited (and fraudulent) "emergency" basis... while VASTLY increasing the risks to patients. Those risks increase not just because of "acceleration" or reduced oversight... but.. because again insulating the companies from any liability... this time while pushing early stage medical experiments into the general population. So, given no liability... no real limits in the expansion of the experiments being conducted... with no transparency ?
If they were tackling polio today... the shot wouldn't provide full immunity... you'd need to get a semi annual booster shot... "to be sure"... while the shot being given would actually work to propagate polio in the population MORE... to ensure it never went away...
Didn't Dr, Seuss write a book about something like that ? Only, not labelled "big pharma business plan" ? "Healthcare as a Service" might not be a thing you see in a headline often (yet)... but, that monopolistic view of the proper conduct of business... is what is driving the market now... particularly in vaccinations... perhaps not coincidentally... where Bill Gate's influence is a big factor ?
The value of the shot is being oversold... the risks are being undersold... both by a wide margin... and that is not being done in a vacuum,... but is being done for a REASON ? But, the marketing push still ignores... the value accrues to the companies... the risks all belong to you... no matter how badly it turns out.
And, that is occurring while there are drugs known and readily available that accomplish the same purpose in providing protection from the disease... just as well or better... with LESS risk... at a lower cost ? Medical ethics... require that if that drug exists... you have to use that INSTEAD of tinkering with people's immune systems ? What IS driving "medicine" now... to escape those limits medical ethics used to impose ?
All that's happening here is drug companies imposing large, open ended and growing risks on you for profit... because you're letting them get away with doing that...
They didn't have drugs that worked to stop polio back in the day ? But, back then... they also didn't have huge drug companies converting public policy goals into forced cash flows on the basis of fraud. And that is what we do have today... drugs that will work to stop the disease... and companies practicing frauds.
The flagrant fraud in the new Alzheimer's drug ? Basically the same people... and the same principle ? The "science" has nothing to do with it... nor does medical ethics... This is not medicine... its just business.
The DESIGN that is driving the changes you see occurring... in healthcare ? Starting with the forced centralization in delivery... the forced removal of all patient confidentiality ?
Nothing much unique about it, actually... they're just seeking to duplicate all those same elements of market fraud in monopoly practices that others have created and are working to perfect in other spheres... to impose them in medicine. So, just as you can't buy a "stand alone" bit of software to run your computer any more... but have to "license" your use of it... and then, instead of buying a license once, have to keep paying for the same thing over and over... even as it become LESS functional ? They're trying to do that same thing to you in your health... to lease you your own health... by selling "your health as a service"...
That works the same way as it does in computers... with them first having to take the ownership and control of your machine away from you... in order to sell the function of what you already own... back to you, over and over. And, if you balk... or try to take control of your machine back from them... so that you control it instead of them... then your computer quits working... ?
A key component of that parallel design... is that "you don't own your own health any more"... and you are being made dependent on them... as you are being extorted... to pay for the service of them letting you live... as they, and not you, are in control of your health...
Covid appears to be just a first "active" step along that path... following all the passive steps they've taken along that path to date... both organizationally, and in integrating health with technology.
Software as a service is not an intrinsically bad idea, but the value it has depends on the quality of effort, the quality of product, and the integrity of the provider working to help you... rather than take control of you and extort you... through a legalized ransomware attack that you agreed to submit to ? But, if you use Microsoft operating systems now... see what happens if you decide to take back control of critical functions... as isolate information from their ability to see it... also particularly including who your computer is allowed communicate with, and what it is allowed to communicate ? Or, see what happens if you don't want to keep paying extortion to Microsoft to keep your computer (and data) alive ?
Zuckerberg, famously, puzzling over why anyone would ever trust him with their personal information... boiled down that random truth that people place a huge excess of faith in computer things succinctly:
"Dumbfucks".
That's a correct observation, not only as to Zuckerberg, or computers... but about all misplaced faith ?
Not all of that "new business structure" is about direct $ flows ? Microsoft is still catching up with others in the market... who recognized before them that capturing all the information they can about you... allows them to make you into the product. But, where others give you "free" services in exchange for the right to sell you a the product... Microsoft makes you pay them AND give them the right to sell you as the product ?
Zuckerberg might be able to turn off your access to information flows on one channel... but he can't (monitor and) control your entire computer... all of your information... and all of your information flows... where Microsoft probably can ?
How will that work... in healthcare... as that same business model is implemented... and as healthcare is increasingly dominated by integration with the technology ?
There are large potential benefits... as AI becomes more adept at monitoring your health... it becomes a vastly better diagnostician than most GP's very quickly. The computer should learn far more about your health than ever could have been known before...
Maybe Microsoft will make a lot of money from selling all that information about you to others... ?
As is true of computers already... there are advantages... but the surrender of control... is not benign. |
