Re << Just have no idea how restrictive they're making a two week quarantine in a hotel... >>

How restrictive are your county jails?

One gets TV and internet, and is reasonably safe from gang rape.

Time passes surprisingly quickly, as one has to do own room cleaning. The hotel supplies a kit upon arrival along w/ toothbrush and such. Unsure who cleans jail cells.

I am surmising based on in-home quarantine of two weeks upon return to HK w/ tracking bracelet on wrist, a long time ago, august of 2020. How time flies.

Of course we have a super live-in help who is great at cooking, and have a garden to define (by walking around at perimeter of defined home whilst hooked up to the smartphone) as part of home. We could have (against the rules) but did not accept visitors. Hotel guests cannot break rules.

‘They’ changed the quarantine rules soon after we returned, so all travelers including locals w/ home must do hotel quarantine. Saves money for the government to hand out money to hotels and their employees.

In-laws did hotel quarantine upon return November 2020, at the Mandarin. Apparently tolerable as long as there were two TVs so that they did not argue w/ each other. The cost of quarantine hotels are competitive. Peninsula did not accept quarantine guests and was at 3% occupancy from staycationers.

3%?! Less than when 1929 Great Depression was on.
