california is quite a mix of politics and ethics. lots of privileged/opportunistic silicon valley yuppie libertarians (conservatives?), who fly rainbow 'identity' flags, while 'unintentionally'(?) harming the un'enlightened' others, who are 'pushed aside'... 'rightly' (in their view). so, partly, i agree with you. speaking of right, though,... lots of rightwing conservatives in the ag areas of the sacramento valley... and, of course, orange county/parts of southern california... etc. seems to me that the term 'progressive' has been hijacked by neoliberals(conservatives) and just aint what it used to be. but then, i'm getting old... -g/ng-
