Just saw your other post about how it's working but temperature induced.
Sounds like pump or vapor lock type issue or maybe even vacuum in tank.
Any problem when on a long drive? If so, vacuum in tank from bad gas cap not letting air in. We get that here a lot where mud daubers build nests in any hole they can find.
There should be a air valve looking thing on the fuel rail on most cars but I don't know for sure on Toyota. You can put a gauge on it to test fuel pressure. Just make sure you put a rag over it then bleed off the pressure (gas is going to spurt out) before you try to hook up fuel gauge. That will tell you if you have no pressure, low pressure etc.
Vapor lock is rare on EFI systems but not unheard of. If lines are close to hot areas, bubble can get in the line.
Don't rule out fuel pressure regulator and the vacuum line controlling it. You can usually pull the vacuum line off and see a jump of almost 10 lbs of pressure when you do. If you have a mityvac vacuum pump, you can test the regulator to make sure it isn't leaking. Otherwise, look for fuel leaking into the vacuum line.
Good scanners can show you a lot of the values too. Too bad it isn't a Ford. There's a great free laptop scanner that shows everything and you can even turn on hidden options on cars.
Good luck
