Hi Jacob,

I believe there is a very unrealistic over hype regarding the hatred of fossil fuels.

Yes EV's will gain further acceptance. In particular in China , as they have huge air pollution problems that are literally killing thier citizens with in the huge planned cities.

England Ireland and the many small European nations can use them far more than the US, which has huge geography - living in Alaska - you know far better than most.

That being said, oil is the base material for so many more things, that RENEWABLES JUST WILL NOT REPLACE.

The cult like refusal to use fossil fuels is just over the top - sadly too familiar amongst the greenie environmentalists.

I have a jaundiced view on "The New Green Deal". It is an excuse to add more taxes upon the populations of the world. That's why they all hang together.

The Europeans are now wanting to create a carbon tax like tariff that goes against the country where the product was made, based upon there carbon footprint, BUT good ole China gets a break on extending their reductions. It's political crap that treats the US very badly.

Yet because we use a lot of natural gas to generate electricity, we are the only country that has actually reduced our carbon footprint.

I'm willing to bet, we don't get a credit on their congered up carbon tax!

Long story short, fossil fuels may well be displaced by renewables in the developed countries, but the emerging countries won't give a crap. They'll want cheap electricity and cheap cars with ICE's.

They'll not give EV purchase credits/rebates or build out a brand new infrastructure of charging stations. They simply do not have the where with all to accomplish that.

CVX and XOM have very low cost crude. While all these politicians pass there "No ICE engines by whatever year, and then fine their global fossil fuel E&P supers for not reducing fossil fuels, the absence of new reserves will be picked up by Opec+ and the US shale reserves for domestic use and exports.

Its a big bet that all the hype is just that.

The evolution to EV's and no fossil fuels will take longer than all the legislators and hype assumes.

That's my bet with XOM and CVX.

I jealous you get to go to the Kenai and net them.

I spent 13 summers in Alaska taking my managers and fleet customers fishing in Prince William Sound. I went to Valdez and prepared a company boat that we had in a slip ate the city harbor. I became obsessed in catching big halibut and just loved going out into the Gulf of Alaska. It stretched our 32 foot boat to get out to seal rocks, but the adventure to be had in Prince William Sounds is just so special and exciting.

I feel the same way about the Gulf of Mexico, but it is very hot. At least the water's temp won't kill you there.

I had a very close friend who took me in like a little brother. He showed me black bear hunting, moose hunting and the addiction of catching 100 pound plus halibut. Enjoy those wonderful nature experiences. We'll never live long enought o even scratch the surface!

"THE LAST FRONTIER" says it all!

Bob
