Andrew US West will use CSCO switches, out of 14 states cover by US West for acces, as aaccess switches only.This products can not perform multiservies function like NN 36170 multiservices switch.US West is moving his beckbone to ATM base on NN platform( within 14 states-much biger investment) and it is not changing.At the same time BT is will eliminate CSCO legacy and move to NN platform.MCI which is currently using CSCO products is moving to NN.IF you have listned to con .call you have lerned that TDM customers are moving faster to ATM that planned, so we will see small vaccum before ATM will make up for decrease in ravenue associated with TDM. NN expect 15% decline IN TDM in ficsal 1999.Hovewer it will be still many making machine.Also VIVID is kicking in , and should be enchence by NN-3COM.NN is reducing big way unprofitable legacy of UB and this also will add to the bottom line.Looks thay try to be very conservative at this point, and prefer to surprise in the future.
