the story may or may not be weird, but I suspect common place, only weird that the story saw daylight, must have either slipped through when someone (unlikely) went to the wash closet or the beginning of something else is (more likely) afoot the story is in the net for a reason, which presumably includes its teeing up its residual sheen of credibility, much like the 'spy chip' story placed twice at suspect Bloomberg doing triangulation, weird showed up again, see below two panels that turned up on the same search, one under 'News' tab in which only the NYT item showed up, and the other under 'All' tab that revealed the extent of 're-coverage' tagged to the original NYT story 'little known' sums the story up, as well as the story's subject the story was leaked by someone for some reason, a guess
