There is also the switching cost for consumers. Personal example: I bought a van, ripped out the back seats, built a platform for a big bed and storage underneath. 4wd, hi clearance, big engine, goes places I would never take an RV. Horrible MPG. Point is, it is 20 years old, runs great, no rust, probably has another 10 years in it. Odds of replacing it with an EV: zero. I love that van: old, ugly, and reliable. I want to be buried in that van, like a Viking chieftain in his longship.
