Some seem to believe Snowden was working for the Russians all along. He certainly got out of the US in time, had help with safe passage through HK, and settled in Russia. Dunno. Watch & brief.
My reckoning about the Russians is that multipolar is better than unipolar, girls pretty, food now rank highest in the proper eateries, people friendly, STEM smart, some machines and gadgets geewhizbang, possibly misunderstood and might be too much picked on. No, having noted above, Putin is entirely another matter. However, Putin is good as counter to Trump as well as Biden. They play well together.
I have a soft spot for the Russians and Russia, I freely admit. They deserve an easier life, but perhaps there is no easy way. I am not into regime-change and failed-state protocol. Big believer in each tribe picks own way forward.

Yes, Xi tightening grip on China, but is only for ‘Greater’ China. And no, all other leaders are not loosening their grip on respective populations, but have little to compensate for the tightening grip.
As to Trump, he may or may not be good for America. Am agnostic. But arguably Biden might be in process to guarantee a credible Trump run come 2024.
