I think the real problem in politics is money. Both parties have the problem, but the Republicans have been more successful getting money from business than the Democrats have getting money from labor unions. The problem for the Democrats is that the industrial revolution is over, and the union model just doesn't fit the digital economy. That makes the Democrats lose the money race, so they have to promote ideas to get votes. Good for them, but it's not the answer to honest government. It's just a matter of who is most corrupt. Getting rid of lobby contributions, and money bundlers, and leadership PACs is the real answer.
