Jason: I think your points are well intended, but i also think you should lighten up a bit. I see that you became a member of SI fourteen days ago. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have been a lurker for a lot longer than that. Many individuals on this thread speak to IR reps often, and merely repeat, for all our benefit, the info they have learned. Others feel they have a reliable source and, if they are not breaking any confidentiality agreements, put the info on the thread for the benefit of all. I do not feel like calling IR to get info, so i appreciate reading what others have learned. And I know for a fact that IR has told investors that numbers were expected within a certain time frame, yet they were not delivered. Thus, it is possible for a poster to state information which he reasonably feels is reliable, but which subsequently turns out to be wrong. Stocks are bought and sold on the basis of reality and the basis of perception. As a shareholder, I want to have a grasp on both. (Do you know anyone who has ever made money buying a stock based on a rumor that it was going to be taken over? I assume you see my point). Unfortunately, rumors are one of the ingredients in perception; if you have been investing for a long time, then you know that.
My blood pressure is subject to rapid changes based on what I read on this thread, and I wish that the rank rumor-mongering would cease; especially the rumors leaking out of the company. But posters have the right to responsibly post their concerns, questions and info.
