Dude, you are out there....nobody, including myself, said she deserved a slap on the wrist, etc., I said that 'murder' is 'murder'....and that if society punishes it members with murder, no one should be surprised when members of society murder.

Joe hit the nail on the head, I can remember kickin'-it with gang-bangers bragging about which way the body fell when they shot a guy...the militia 'mentality' is obvious in the colors and decorum of the gangs.....let the govt. punish with murder, just don't be surprised when these kids punish each other with murder.
As far as Vietnam.....Jeanne Kirkpatrick said we needed "lots of Vietnams"....to set an 'example'....you may be a revisionist, but she stated that publically.....The UN wanted Vietnam to decide its own destiny with election. The US knew that the 'people' would back the Communists....so , with Diem, they set-up a 'puppet' govt', created strategic acts of terrorism to get the 'people' to rebel...they attacked schools, churches, etc....until the veit-cong fought back....when they did, and even the Vietnamese asked them to leave.....they stayed, why?....WE said we were there to defend 'ourselves' now!
Bombing Cambodia....funding Pol Pot were just more ways to continue killing veit-cong .
