Rate of ascent post-trough is greater than rate of descent pre-trough; that is the same pattern seen in waves 1,2, and 3, but not 4. Extrapolating that curve, leads me to conclude: case rate hits 100k/d in 10-15 days. So far, vaccination rates have not increased, in spite of all the Delta Variant news. At this point, even a large increase in vaccinations would not help much. That’s because of the lag between first dose and full protection.
