Funny, I keep hearing about how delta isn't as serious as prior variants but I didn't know anyone that died from covid in the last 3 waves but lost 4 friends to this wave just in the last week. Just got word on the last one a few minutes ago. He caught it a month ago and only had minor symptoms. Mainly a severe headache but otherwise said it was no big deal. Was recovering and thought he was about over it last week and now I hear a few minutes ago he's gone. 60 years old, fairly good health, worked active labor job. Other 3 were old and not as healthy so not as surprising.
