Why is Quant better or different than BTC?

I generally don't invest in things I don't understand. I'm pretty good at math but it was decades ago that I was in school and really had to learn something new so I'm so far behind... just not interested in adding more complexity to my life to understand the math.

So, crypto's might be great or they might be tulips... I really don't know so at this point in my life preserving critical mass (wealth) is more important than making it larger. But, I still like to learn what I can.

These days there is SO MUCH money chasing things of less and less value (talk now of trading platforms to get into pre IPO companies... like we didn't learn from Enron and Worldcom that it takes millions just to meet public accounting rules to be a listed company...) Sometimes it feels good just to have a pile of cash in addition to my quickly appreciating stocks, just in case.
