Older Folk Portfolio ... Re: PM ... Sell and replacement buys.

I have decided to sell PM.

As to my thoughts about PM, I don't like the fundamental trend. They spun off several companies, companies that made MO the great investment it was for years. Then they broke off into MO and PM. Then they went into cannabis which doesn't seem to be working as planned. Then they are selling off their wine business. Then PM announces they won't be selling their legacy product in two countries in the years to come and how many more countries will come later.

I see nothing but a downtrend here and I've held my nose while having kept it as long as I have in the few portfolios still holding it. I'm coming up for air and I will be increasing the income flow with my choices so I'm not afraid of letting PM go. There won't be any sellers remorse.

NEAR TERM:

Primary Objective: Income replacement.
Secondary Objective: Higher yield.

LONG TERM:

Objective: Better total return potential.

In keeping these objectives in mind PM had a yield of 4.88% and generated $3,249 in annual income. The following moves improved the yield of the positions combined of 5.15% and the annual income these assets will generate is $3,412.

The Near Term objectives are achieved. As to the Long Term objective of higher total return, I think the following moves will achieve that objective as well, but time will tell.

These are the moves made today to replace PM: (I had $66K and change to work with)

BME ..... 203 shares (financials)
GDV ..... 379 shares (dividend growth)
DPG ..... 692 shares (utilities)
GRX ..... 744 shares (healthcare)
RQI ...... 629 shares (real estate)
AVGO .. 12 shares (technology)
APD ..... 7 shares (chemicals)
UNP ..... 9 shares (industrials)
CLX ..... 8 shares (consumer staples)

BME .. GDV .. DPG .. GRX were all new positions. AVGO .. APD .. UNP .. CLX were all add on positions.
