<Anyone noticed that investment in R&D went up considerably?

From 17.7 million last year for the same period to 35.7 million now.
Also, within the last FY was it up strongly.

This strong commitment to R&D plus today's announcement of the patent
and cross-licensing deal has got to pay dividends down the road. Not
too many S3 competitors can afford to make allocate the same resources
without putting the company in jeopardy.>

If they have been sitting on these patents since last summer perhaps that explains at least part of the increase in r & d.

Are we about to see s3 release a microprocessor chip?

Anyone care to venture a guess??
