I found it odd that you would not have mentioned the risk to your daughter, only the risk to him. Particularly since you were so keen on "rational decision making" and "weighing the alternatives." Hence the comment about the Christmas list. Your daughter probably take you off her Christmas list if these are the only considerations you consider important.

She has some health risks, and her husband is a picture of good health.
You didn't answer my question about the risk/reward calculation. Since there's virtually no cost to getting the vaccination, maybe a half hour of his time, I'm struggling to see how any risk to him or your daughter would outweigh it.



They believe they can’t just stop living until the virus is gone. I get that.


I get that, too. But taking the time to stop at the drugstore cannot possibly be construed as "stop living." It's trivial, even for a busy person.
