We have a fair number of coyotes in my neck of the woods... Almost hit one while skiing not too long ago... it seemed quite large, though, very healthy in a full winter coat, as it walked right out in front of me while looking down the hill... While flying past it, just missing it by inches, I thought it might have been a smaller female wolf, as we've got them again, too. The coyotes are burrowed in the wall of a local stream bank... not more than a couple hundred yards from the house... but mostly leave the neighbors chickens alone... apparently well enough fed by field mice, rabbits and quail, or whatever else it is they're finding ? I rather like hearing them singing at night... which can get pretty noisy when there's a new passel of pups and a full moon just begging for it...
