You really should take your own advice of remaining objective. You took ONE analyst's OPINION way too seriously and went into a PANIC("in a pucker" as you put it). That's how it appeared to me.

Always remember that analyst views are just OPINIONS. Sometimes, they can be very wrong, just like the average Joe. Here's something to think about next time you read an article from any publication:

techweb.com
techstocks.com
1) Photon Dynamics (PHTN) $6 3/8. Simply put, the need for FPD test, inspection and repair products will grow rapidly over the next two years. The Flat Panel market will blossom when it can effectively compete with conventional CRTs for the desktop and television markets. Their only real barrier is manufacturing cost and, like semiconductors, the name of the game is yield! The only way to get yields up quickly is via an effective test, measurement and repair strategy. Photon is the leading equipment supplier for this type of equipment. They have excellent penetration into the Korean FPD suppliers and are making excellent progress in Japan and Taiwan. These are the areas where tomorrow's leading edge FPDs will be manufactured.
Despite the recent shortfalls, we believe Photon is in a great position to benefit from the increased production of large viewing screens.

2) I'm going to go out on a limb here and bet on Asyst Technologies
(ASYT). Two years of extremely rapid growth have created inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and the delivery of equipment. The company has struggled to bring consistent profits to the bottom line but management is addressing these areas and I believe the stock is undervalued given their long term prospects.
