Thanks for the update.

My 2nd largest position in the portfolio is BHP (also a miner w/ iron ore) and this was my Father's doing as for him they maintained their value w/ assets they owned under the ground.

Vale is similar and for me, provides an excellent way to diversify out of an over weighted BHP position into another company w/i the same sector. I do have a huge capital gain in BHP but worth taking the tax hit to make the portfolio move.

I like that w/ VALE you also get a steel producer which s/d benefit w/ the proposed infrastructure bill shovel ready projects. You are buying at a PE<10 and get a 7% div payer.
