Tony, and All, re: Intel and prop 211
This really steams me. Not what Intel has done, they are taking prudent action in the face of the possibility of 211 enaction. I am angry about the promotion of proposition 211, and its possible consequences.
If 211 passes, I am sure that other companies will follow Intel's lead: if you can be sued for forward-looking statements, the prudent solution is not to make any.
Effectively what this law will do is take information away from the small investor with limited information resources. Gives further advantage to large institutions with more research resources.
I am also really steamed that, because I don't live in California, I have no say in whether this law passes or not. But because of the way the law it written, it affects all of my investments. Is this fair?
It seems such a blatant attempt by a narrow special interest group to snooker people into rolling back federal reforms, passed with broad bipartisan support, by invoking the infamy of well-known frauds and con-men.
I sure hope 211 doesn't pass, and I hope all you who live in California see that it doesn't!
Is there more information available on Intel's position on this issue, or if they are intending to take further action in opposition?
