Whilst the Jack and I was away from Stanley home area of HK to camp on Lantau Island, a (presumably) Philippines domestic helper returning from the USA with her employer after summer break, was fully vaccinated (BioNTech), did the 7-days quarantine (in force for fully vaccinated people. Unvaccinated folks must do 14 / 21 days quarantine depending on where originating from), has developed presumably USA-caught Covid, and had meandered around Stanley, Causeway Bay, and Wanchai.
We returned from camp just a few hours ago and now told Stanley public areas (mall, etc) are empty, and people lining up to be tested. Luckily our extended household (wife, daughter, and helper, in-laws and my mom) did not visit Stanley public areas in the last 48 hours, and Jack and I was away. We could easily have visited Stanley had we not gone glamping. Just wonderful. Do not wish to have a stick pushed up my nose.
From N of one we conclude BioNTech does not prevent infection, but either delays onset of symptoms or coverup infection, making the infected more dangerous to others
In any case, missed a bullet. Feel fortunate.
