IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 4, 1998--To provide the best price/performance value in professional computing, the Computer Systems Division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS) Wednesday announced price reductions up to $220 on Equium commercial desktop PCs.

In addition, Toshiba has reduced selected portable computers up to 20 percent. New prices are effective Feb. 1, 1998 for Toshiba computers sold in the United States.

Equium PCs Offer Peak Performance at a Competitive Price

With cost-savings up to 10 percent, Toshiba's Equium commercial systems now have estimated street prices beginning at $1,269. Engineered for long-term performance and easy serviceability, Equium desktop systems provide exceptional reliability and functionality for small, medium and large businesses.
Equium systems are powerful enough to handle the most demanding applications, with processors ranging from an Intel 166MHz Pentium processor with MMX technology to a 266MHz Pentium II processor. The Equium line also offers DMI support, a tool-less chassis and Secure Sleep technology to enhance productivity and reduce total cost of ownership.

For complete desktop functionality, selected models include video-conferencing capabilities and DVD -ROM drives.

The Equium line of commercial desktop PCs comes with a standard three-year limited warranty, with the first year of service on-site. All Toshiba notebooks come standard with either a one-year or three-year warranty and are backed by Toshiba's service and support, available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
