The Test Floor
By Chad Fasca and Dylan McGrath

Teradyne today will announce that Motorola has purchased multiple Catalyst superchip test systems for testing asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) devices. The first test system was installed at Motorola's Austin, Texas, facility in the third quarter of 1997. Catalysts were also shipped to the same Motorola location in January with additional test systems slated to ship through the first quarter of 1998. The Catalyst test system features per-pin VLSI digital, embedded memory and analog and volume production test requirements for superchip ICs.
