Oh, they know... they're just lying... It's there in the statement they made: The Bank of Canada says that the factors pushing up inflation are transitory but their persistence and magnitude are uncertain... Which means: The Bank of Canada says that the factors pushing up inflation are of uncertain persistence and magnitude... Which means calling it transitory is a lie... as knowing it is transitory would require knowing the persistence and magnitude of the factors pushing it up... to be able know if it was transitory or not ? They're just lying... and assuming it won't matter... because you will just believe them...
