From what I can discern about the Team China's overarching strategic approach, and am less qualified to comment on Russian and American ways, is that China intends to ...
(1) Build build build economy, and all that it entails - diligence, thrift, natural, organic, free-ranging, curiosity, and unity unity unity
(2) Achieve strategic nuclear parity w/ all top dogs, less about numbers and more about quality / survivability - entailing land-submarines mobile-enabled ICBMs moving around on trucks and trains, and the ability to break through any and all defences
(3) Achieve conventional theatre-superiority, by way of asymmetry and smart-works, of A.I., rockets, and drones, and more of the same, plus sharply improving capabilities and capacities for delivering acupuncturing pressure pointing, in all domains including cislunar and lunar space
(4) Watch and brief, be alert, astute, agile, agnostic, and almighty
(5) Allow prospective enemies to fully express and expose themselves in any combination and deal with same, case by case, phase by phase, structure by construct
(6) Time has no end, and objectives remain constant, to secure ancestral land
