Attached is older data from the UK on the different variants going back to the end of June. Summarizing the Delta variant data:
  • 117 total people died in the UK from Delta variant as of this point in time
  • 8 people under the age of people died (2 were partially vaccinated)
  • 0 fully vaccinated people under the age of 50 died
  • 109 total over age 50 died
  • 50 fully vaccinated people over the age 50 died (IE almost half)

Which too me says, that there is a certain group of high risk people with complications and/or near their "natural" end of life, where the vaccine is ineffective (and possibly even counter productive). Which makes sense...vaccines work by activating/priming your immune system and so it goes to follow, if your immune system is not working well, the vaccine may not work well.

Also I should note that the overall data is extremely positive for pro vaccine side...at least in regards to preventing death by covid. Of course, that says nothing about the impact of the vaccine versus the impact of catching and building resistance naturally. The debate over that will likely going on for decades with no clear winner ever emerging...
