The Communists in Korea weren't invaders, they were native Koreans, aided of course by Chinese allies. Thats how they overran the peninsula (except Pusan) so quickly.

The Cold War was still a thing all the way until the democratization of South Korea.

So what? We still sold out SVN right at the heght of the Cold War.

You don't strike me as a Jimmy Carter type, so don't pretend that you think America could have easily walked away from Korea during the Cold War like Biden walked away from Afghanistan.

Of course it could have. Witness SVN.

Those talks were actually viewed relatively favorably by Koreans, both on the left and the right. You don't know shit.

Furthermore, at the time of the talks, the South Korea president was a liberal who favored engagement with the North. No one other than hardcore military establishment types objected to the cancelling of military exercises.

Irrelevant points. The fact is Trump treated SK with the same distaste he did Afghans. Whether you admit it or not doesn't matter.

In conclusion, I had no worries that Trump would ever sell out South Korea, and I was right.

You were foolish to put faith in Trump's faithfulness. He made his contempt for America's allies - Korean, Japanese, European - plain. They were all cheats who stole from America.
