Songs have changed in response to the way music is delivered. It is streaming music now with an easy, perhaps voice activated skip ahead feature. It used to take more time to change a radio station, and you couldn't skip that way anyway. Skipping a song on an LP record was quite a chore and risked damaging your investment. Now songs have to be written and performed with a limited attention span in mind.
