Can you provide examples of a society changing from a moral one to one that promotes murder, thievery, and deception as virtues? Even societies that had a morally gray attitude on such matters like the Spartans and the Mongolians eventually transformed for the better and never looked back.

If something has been a winning strategy for thousands of years across so many geographically and culturally diverse countries, through the many ups and downs of history, then it is as close to the universal truth as we can get to.

Evolution is not just a matter of biology. Social systems evolve too. And just as the vast majority of biological mutations end badly, so do social leaps that go against the trend. Unless you can provide concrete examples of what you are talking about, it's just a conjecture unsupported by the facts.
