Now songs have to be written and performed with a limited attention span in mind.
Oh I grew as a kid in the day of under 3 minute songs pre-AOR days - talk about short attention span. AOR = Album Oriented Rock for those not familiar. Like there was some big deal about making a song longer and maybe even gosh darnit two in a row from the same group. Wowza.

The great thing about music (or any of the other arts) is you can find whatever it is you personally like. Beauty or porno in the eye of the beholder. Then, now and always.
