I'm afraid I can't help you with that...I didn't try to execute any orders during the "meltdown." I know that I couldn't connect online just to check my account though. After the October adventure, one of the communications trade magazines I read published an article on how all the big online brokerages handled it. Schwab along with Ameritrade and E-trade all were hit hard. The article went on to explain the communications upgrades each outfit was doing to improve bandwidth. They should all be better prepared next time. I don't recall seeing AB Watley mentioned in the article.

As far as showing up at the office, I'm sure that would've worked. What I wish I had tried was calling the Select number to see what that response was like. No doubt that would've been the first time I'd have had to sit on hold for awhile.
