From what I've read, Forbes's flat tax is going to benefit him greatly. I'm not voting for a guy who pushes for something that's going to benefit him. Dole I like thus far. The man does need to say more so everyone knows where he stands. Buchanon, I like part of his platform but he is also way to extreme. I like part of each candidate's platform, but so far overall I do like Dole and yet you need Forbes and Buchanon up there too, else Dole may just go back to an institutionalized way of thinking. Whoever becomes President has to think independantly, to me, as they are an independant part of the Government, as is the Supreme Court and the Congress. I don't know where the other candidates stand or if they are still in the race. Sometimes I wonder if Buchanon is just acting a certain way to stir controversy or if he really thinks that way. If he really thinks that way, then I think he's way too conservative, isolationist, protectionist, or what have you. Forbes is a little too intellectual for my taste, but that's just me. There are parts of his platform that seem good, but I think if a very important and critical decision needs to be made by the President, he just doesn't have the experience to make the decision. I'm only going by looking at him and hearing him talk. I have no idea how he is behind closed doors. In some ways I wouldn't mind seeing George Bush running again if that's at all possible.
All of these candidates need to start touching on the other issues as well, but that may be saved until after the primaries are over. |
