Amazing, using Xlear is basically just washing/rinsing your nose/sinuses with saline. My deceased step dad...old timey doctor/ENT/surgeon swore by this method to stop most colds in their tracks under the theory that most colds start in your sinuses and migrate from there:

Feel a tickle in your nose or start to have some slight congested
1. Run your tap water as hot as you can stand with burning yourself
2. Cup your hands and catch some water
3. Quickly snort up as much as you can stand into your nose
4. Blow the water out
5. Repeat a couple of times
6. Do this 2-3 times a day for a few days

Human societal knowledge is so strange...we have discovered and forgotten and rediscovered so much...2 steps forward one step back, doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over...etc.
