[ PERLF Compatibility ]

Okay Scott, I've been digging since I received your response. All I can do now is throw links at you regarding the industry's viewpoint on Perle's products, and how they held up to its scrutiny:

From Computer Reseller News:

techweb.com

From Info World, a good description of the positives and negatives are addressed

infoworld.com

And from the following link:

pctoday.com

"...The Perle supports dynamic IP addressing, which simplifies access for remote users by handling cryptic numbers automatically when a dial-up call comes in.

The Perle 833/4E works with leading NOSes, including Novell NetWare, Windows NT, OS/2 LAN Server, Banyan VINES, and Digital's DECnet."

And a Strengths/Weaknesses section.

And a commentary on Remote Controls v. Remote Access:

zdnet.com

And from the Pile, Shiva and Perle stand out from the rest, in their own ways:

zdnet.com

Some Perle strengths: ease of use, great value, strong technical support and service.

I guess I learned a lot trying to pull this all up for you. Hope it helps answer some of the compatibility questions, plus some others.

Regards,

Rainier
