People like him will listen to rumors perpetuated on social media, but won't listen to scientist because agencies like the CDC are part of the rights hated government. Ignoring that they are qualified and charged with understanding diseases, tracking them and keeping the public informed. The choice is listen to qualified people or right wing talking heads. The wrong choice has lead to backed up ICU's, with unvaccinated and self medicated people who poison themselves, in such great numbers that others with emergency needs like heart attacks can't get an ICU bed.
