<<Fukashima>>

First, Broken_Clocks "Conspiracy Theory" has been turned to very hard "Conspiracy Fact"

Fukushima operators to build undersea tunnel to dump contaminated water | Japan | The Guardian

The Fukashima incident is classic "opening a can of worms" scenareo. The only think you can do is put it in a bigger can. The bigger can, in this case being the planet Earth.

The water is being treated to remove everything that can be removed. What is left is tritium, which is almost impossible to remove economically. Tritium has a half life of 12.3 years, which as half lifes go... not too bad.

There is background radiation in sea water, if the diluted sea water is in the same order of the background radiation, all should be well. I can see why everyone is kicking up a fuss about it though... Can we trust Tepco now? ummmm... no I wont be buy my retirement property there either.

The argument is on how effective is the removal process for the other radionuclides. See greenpeace link below. and... will there be any cheating and corruption going on? The whole incident ocurred because of cheating and corruption.

Hand it all over to a responsible third paryy I say... and give em a bonus scheme to get it done right.
