Tom - I agree with you on the takeover rumors moving the stock, I'd add to that the Apple "come back" conference / MACR developers conference which generated a lot of interest, though bottom line for MACR didn't seem to reflect that same interest. As a designer who has used their products, I'm still on the fence as I mentioned about their Dreamweaver product and I wondered if there are any other designer/developer types out there lurking who are in the same place. Maybe we could get an informal poll. For me MACR's real turn around will be when we as developers/designers start using there products as the defacto standard, which hasn't happened yet so far as I know (when I poll my friends informally). This is what made them first time around, and this will be what makes them second time around (assuming no takovers, in which case all bets are off.
