making a pick, Australia for you, out of what.. maybe 200 countries, is a stretch of imagination. I think I would be looking Bhutan for but I'll give it a go
elsewhere.

China, a 'planned' socialist economy has 'planned' successes unless people are starving... last, Mao? After all, it seems they survived 2008 or so quite well.
But one must realize the RMB is not fully convertible. So, if China wants to put their money where their mouth is, it gets heavily discounted. Just witness
the flight of China wealth fleeing for overseas markets a few years back until Xi made it difficult if not illegal.
(Kind of funny the bravado of Xi Jinping going China alone. What if Nixon did not do the ColdWar thing recognizing China in the early '70's. If it weren't for
America, China would still be peddling bicycles & pushing produce carts, not acting like their shit don't stink)
Sorry for the graphics.

as for me, I'll keep it simple because I am just a 'sample' of one carbon unit out of what 330million or so, American citizens. So, for me to fully understand 'success'
I have to go back down memory row & correlate what I think of importance.

America, as in the good old U.S.A.
As I look at peace & prosperity in my lifetime, it has to be the year 2000. Unemployment was low, inflation maybe deflation back then, and most importantly,
one has to realize we were paying down the Fed debt.. & projected t/b retired by 2012.
So, FDR's social programs for the masses, WW2, the Korean conflict, VietNam, the so- called "ColdWar" conflict.. all that Fed debt going way back to the '30's was
projected to be retired.
What is there not to like about that?

I'll be blunt.. the republicans ****** it up.
& now, their boy- toy Trump & his cult of trumpeteers, the 6Jan. insurrection. Some people are confused on what the qualifications of patriotism and what constitutes
the grievous breaking of the law.
There is no quarter.

Sorry for the rant.. I am in Sarajevo this month and to the 10Sept. Here of course was the CivilWar in the early and mid '90's here. Kosovo later.
One would be hard pressed to pick out the Muslims, the Serbian Orthodox, and the Croat Roman Catholics, unless a few of the Muslim women wear their
headscarves, or the burqas.
The odd thing about my lengthily stay, now 8mos in the Balkans, is how many people here have lived in the States, have relatives/ friends in America, & are very
aware of 'everything America' that would make a proud American blush.
NBA is getting huge here too.. same as in China.

What I am saying that is where America is powerful. Think like 'America, the Mecca' of the 'free world & open society' (except for the heathen dTrump).
