Fewer laws about consensual (adult) sex, yes.

The word consent requires consciousness in a broad context. Both/all need a genuine freedom to say "stop" at any point.

Thats the rub (no pun intended.) I knew more than one woman over-the-years who was raped while one or both were on drugs and/or drunk. I have changed my mind on this, it is still rape if consent was not or could not be given. Its tempting to victim-blame in these cases.

This would apply to sex workers too. The Ron Jeremy headlines last week; wow; porn stars who often glorify "no means yes" are coming out as victims of each other.

I also know a very edge 72 year old artist who told she had first sex in with her sixth grade teacher. She thinks it was ok and consensual and looks back positively at it. I wonder how common this was and is. I don't think a sixth grader can consent to sex, and thus it is a form of rape that requires consequences in a society of laws to protect minors; but I would never ever shame her for expressing her perception of it.

BTW I knew a bisexual woman who was raped by an aggressive drunk woman -- its not a binary gender thing. Ironically, the aggressive woman was another acquaintance of mine, an executive in several tech companies who had coke and booze issues -- now recovered through AA but sometimes I wonder about the traumas of the victims in her path.
