I think there could be a third element, perhaps related to early genetic propensities. A happy switch that got turned to miserable.

I think many RW'rs and MAGAS had something in there lives that transformed their brains into misery, anger and prejudice. A mental condition brought on later by psychologically significant events. Sibling jealousy, narcissism, anger at Mommy and Daddy for not giving them what they wanted.

I carry this hypothesis based on two people in my family who were sweet children but something changed around 3 years old for one and about 14 for the other (both boys.)

I have two others in my family who are Republicans -- but they do not have the gun worship, dogma, or the anti abortion rage. They are purely GOP based on being wealthy and hating to pay taxes to THEM PEOPLE over there. They are not angry; just greedy. They are very generous to their children who are now rich liberals.
