The military, Pentagon, intel, advisors and Afghan diplomates all advised against it. This was his decision pretty much alone, and few felt it was the right one. Watch how this turns against us. Our politics are so fragile and dangerous, we did not need to carry this additional burden at this time. Once, again, I am sure that is why Obama side stepped it. And the worst that would have happened is that the females would have had a few more years of education and freedom, and we would have been in a better position to check the barbarians.. When people ask the white house what can we do about people stranded they say outright; "we have no power in the air or on the ground". That is a sad state of affairs for this great country.
