Now that we've had some input from a disaffected ex-employee (see Phifer postings), I'd like to add my two cents to this.
I'm an outgoing Quarterdeck product marketer. Yes, I'm on that layoff list too.
Now there's little I can comment on specifically, but I do want to say that there are some very bright and hard-working people at Quarterdeck who are intent on turning the place around, and they have my wholehearted admiration.
It's inevitable that people will be upset at being let go, but I think it's unfair to blame the current team for that. They could have skirted WARN provisions by going just under the levels. Instead, they made the cuts to restore profitability quickly, and in so doing they also gave very decent severances.
These people are great, and they have a good shot at rebuilding a great company.
