The US 7-day average for hospitalizations is around 96,000, and the number in the ICU is about 26,000. What's interesting is the 7-day peak in January ICU patients was about 28,500 while the hospitalizations were about 128,000. The Delta variant is about 20% more likely than the Alpha variant to send people to the ICU.
