You know what it is called when you secure your interests at gun point? Most people refer to it as armed robbery. There is an easy way to secure your oil and minerals. It's called buying them at open market prices. Last I checked the US can print all the dollars it wants, so it's not as if the Americans are dying of freezing cold and have to resort to arm robbery to survive. And btw, there is also an easy way to win the good will of the people. Respect their rights and do some good. There is a lot of that which the US can learn from China... Or from Canada for that matter.
