Paul, here is my response to your post:

1. after 3 years' hype, could you name a commercial viable java product available in the market? What is most hated feature in a web site design? JAVA applet! you can check out DATEK thread to see for yourself. When NSCP cut workforce, what they cut first? JAVA programer!

2. reread my post " Do you know that total apps' revenue is about ten time of DB's". I mean TOTAL revenue that including all other companies' revenue. My point is application market is one order magnitude larger than the DB market.

3. No matter how you try to polish it, when money matters, NSCP drop JAVA first.

4. Financial records speak for themselves. NC and JAVA can NOT bring in any profit or revenue. I am not against to try new ideas. But to bet a large company like ORACLE solely on a still-not-yet-approved idea is stupid. Remember Borland? You know the result of betting the company on "object oriented programing" - the hotest idea at that time.

5. As an investor, I want results not promise. When ORCL is number one in application, I will believe Ray Lane. By the way, I believe that Larry not Ray calling the big shots in ORCL.

regards

derek
